Written in 2022 on the occasion of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Caves Festival, in collaboration with the Collective Mixeratum Ergo Sum and the Collective L Tchaika was a show designed for intimate venues and performances at the home·e.
At the end of the health crisis, it seemed to me essential to talk about theatre, about the love of theatre, and about what had broken in those two years of silence. Ten years after my first staging — adaptation The Gull of Chekhov — Tchaika became a dialogue with the young artist that I was, with her dreams, her angers, her desire for revolution, and with the adult that I became: an artist still crossed by doubts, the white page, and the vital need to create.
Tchaika is a play on the artist and his ghosts, on wear and persistence, on the ego and the desire to leave a trace. A theatrical confession where the artist, above all, remains a human being.
The show was played on tour in May and June 2022 in Bordeaux, Blaye, Poitiers, Loudun, Ribérac, Périgueux, Saintes and other cities of Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
