Seiren from ancient Greek (Seyrn), which designates the mythical creatures mid-female, mid-bird, then become the marine sirens of our imaginary. Their name is linked to the verb Seiro, « bind, tie », and sirazein, « string by singing » They are those who seduce, who captivate, who hold back.
My intention with Seiren is to take back this old thread to weave new ones. Tales invented like scum fragments, where the voice becomes spells and where the legends of the sirens — Greek, Nordic or imaginary — between. A space where the seduction of myth opens up to contemporary stories, powerful and broken women, and the intimate resonance of their songs.
